  • Dr Kupin
    Dr. Talya Kupin

    Dr. Talya Kupin is a board certified ophthalmologist with Subspecialty Fellowship training in Glaucoma. Dr. Kupin is the ,founder and medical director of Glaucoma Specialists of South Florida. Dr. Kupin is nationally and internationally recognized as a leading expert in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, specializing in laser treatment for open and closed angle glaucoma. In addition to her expertise in glaucoma care, she offers comprehensive ophthalmology services, including diagnosis and therapy for dry eyes, as well as a variety of corneal and retinal diseases. After several years of private practice in Florida, Dr. Kupin founded Glaucoma Specialists of South Florida, in order to provide the highest quality state of the art eye care for the community.

    Born in Israel, Dr. Kupin moved to the United States as a young child and graduated with Honors from the University of Michigan, where she received her Bachelor of Science and Medical degrees. After finishing an internship at Henry Ford Health Sciences Center in Detroit, Michigan, she completed her Ophthalmology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine / Montefiore Hospitals in New York. Dr. Kupin concluded her education with a Glaucoma Fellowship at the Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Kupin returned to Henry Ford Health Sciences Center where she served as a Senior Staff Faculty ophthalmologist for six years. While there, she worked as a Professor in Glaucoma and was involved in teaching and supervision of ophthalmology residents in training.

    Dr. Kupin is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, the Florida Society of Ophthalmology, and the Palm Beach County Ophthalmology Society. Dr. Kupin has been a Principal Investigator in many glaucoma research trials, has co-authored a book chapter, and published several articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Kupin has lectured and presented her research at national and international ophthalmology meetings.

  • Dr Kubal
    Dr. Anup Kubal

    Dr. Anup Kubal is a board certified ophthalmologist who completed a Subspecialty Fellowship in Cornea, External Diseases and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Kubal specializes in refractive cataract surgery, including Femtosecond Laser Cataract surgery, the latest technology allowing for the correction of astigmatism during cataract surgery. He has expertise in premium intraocular lenses that correct astigmatism and allow for excellent distance and reading vision after cataract surgery without glasses. Dr. Kubal also specializes in iStent surgery, the newest technology to lower intraocular pressure for patients with glaucoma at the time of cataract surgery. As a refractive surgeon, he performs LASIK evaluations and procedures, and has expertise in all aspects of corneal transplantation.

    Dr. Kubal received his Bachelor of Arts Summa Cum Laude in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University in Massachusetts. After attending medical school at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, he fulfilled an internship at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center at Columbia University. Completing his Ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland, he finished his education with a Cornea Subspecialty Fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. Dr. Kubal has been on faculty at the University of Florida in Gainesville from 2010 to 2016, where he served as Director of the Refractive Surgery service and Director of Medical Student Education in Ophthalmology.

    Dr. Kubal is board certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, and the Florida Society of Ophthalmology. Dr. Kubal has authored several peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters relating to cornea and cataract surgery, and has lectured about these topics at national ophthalmology meetings.

  • DrNezgoda
    Dr.  Joseph Nezgoda

    Joseph Nezgoda, MD, MBA, FASRS is a fellowship-trained retina specialist in Palm Beach County, FL focusing on the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, inflammatory eye disease, and other diseases of the retina and vitreous. Dr. Nezgoda completed his fellowship in medical and surgical diseases at the University of California and has been a researcher at the world-renowned National Institutes of Health. A native of New Jersey as well as Florida, Dr. Nezgoda graduated with honors from Georgetown University. He attended medical school at Rutgers-UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where he received several named scholarships including the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Nezgoda also received the Excellence in Teaching Award. Dr. Nezgoda performed post-graduate training at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, Mount Sinai, NY, The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, Case Western University, and the prestigious Cleveland Medical Center.Dr. Nezgoda has also done humanitarian work in India to fight blindness. For his contributions to the field, he received the both esteemed Leadership in Medicine Award from the American Medical Association and the Senior Achievement Award of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has served on numerous editorial review boards, authored several papers and book chapters, served as an investigator and sub-investigator on retinal disease studies, and has presented at numerous national and international meetings. Dr. Nezgoda also serves on the Boards of the Museum of the Eye in San Francisco and the Eye Care Foundation. Dr. Nezgoda holds an M.B.A. degree from Rutgers University, which he earned simultaneously while attending Medical School. He is Licensed to practice medicine in Florida and Board Certified in Ophthalmology. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Nezgoda speaks conversational Spanish and Italian. During his training, Dr. Nezgoda studied abroad in both Belgium and Italy, and he is still an avid fan of traveling. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, cooking, music, tennis, and classic cinema. His all-time favorite actor is Jimmy Stewart.
